CFPA ANNOUNCES BURN BARREL WINNER

Gold Beach  -  The Coos Forest Protective Association took full advantage of the Curry County Fair by spreading the fire prevention message to thousands of visitors. Fair goers stopped by CFPA’s booth to learn how to protect themselves and their homes during the hot summer months of fire season.

Darryn Ballance of Brookings walked away with the grand prize of a legal burn barrel and screen that will help her burn yard debris safely this summer. CFPA requires that anyone wishing to burn debris first obtain a burn permit after an on-site inspection by a fire warden. Burn permits are free of charge and may be obtained by calling the CFPA office near you.

To stay current on wildland restrictions for the public and industry, call CFPA’s closure information line at (541) 267-1789 or visit its web site at www.coosfpa.net.
